“ Zion Kosher Market is worth a trip from anywhere. When you walk into the store there are Yemini breads sweet, plain, and either Zaahtar that are always warm just out of the oven, and are softer than air. In the morning Shahshuka that sings in your mouth. If you are a lover of eggplant choose between chopped eggplant with cilantro and hot pepper, Rumanian eggplant , baba ganush- Israeli style with mayo, or with tahini, Spanish eggplant, or Yemini eggplant spiced with Zehug. Zehug, if you are unfamiliar with it is made with crushed chilies in oil, cumin, garlic, and cilantro or parsley.Fresh zehug may be purchased separately- as hot as it is , every flavor in the spice is present playing a symphony of flavors in your mouth and throat that lasts for an hour. Wonderful sweet and spicy carrot salad, guacamole with Yemini spices. A myriad of nuts, olives and dried fruits in barrels and middle eastern at prices that will make Manhattanites think they are hallucinating. Every person that I have shared this food with at parties has made the trek to Boro Park. The owners are warm, knowledgeable people proud to share information about how the food is prepared. There is nothing else like it in New York. Yelpers tell me if I am wrong. ”

(when it gets busy) This place makes challah also for Shabbat and if there is anyone ANYONE looking for a good place to buy challah YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR PLACE. The service is great if and when your patient because good things come to those who wait.
